The London Eye is a prominent London Landmark and major tourist attraction.  Located on the south bank of the River Thames, its waterside environment means waterproofing is a key challenge it was made more difficult as the works had to be carried out to a strict deadline when the wheel was shut down for two weeks in January.  We were contracted to waterproof the plant rooms which are the electrical hubs that keep the wheel turning for the 3.5 million visitors each year.  A Sika Liquid Plastics 20 year waterproofing system was used to ensure a fully watertight, long lasting structure.  In addition to this, we were also contracted to waterproof the Ticket Office and satellite retail units using the same Sika product.
